Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No, we do not. Duplicate images, test shots, unfocused images, photos with bad expressions and other images dilute the product delivery process and are not included in the gallery. We take a few extra shots to calibrate and perfect our camera settings and lighting which are not meant for the gallery. We don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus. We spend hours with that process. We eliminate duplicates or images that are not top quality in order to only deliver the best.

Do you shoot weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, or Corporate Events?

While we have experience in many genres of photography, we do not shoot weddings or events at this time.

What is your photography style?

The Liza Nicole Photography team is acclaimed for developing a unique style of photography. It is rooted in photojournalism and influenced by fine-art and fashion photography. I love using creative lighting techniques or natural lighting, unique perspectives, angles, compositions and artistic post-production refining to bring out our clients personalities and beauty while telling their story. Our photography is art. We are not “just photographers”. We are artists creating unique and expressive imagery. To see examples of our quality and style, please visit our Portfolio and Instagram pages.

Do you touch up all the images in our image download?

Yes. All images we deliver are post-produced with our unique signature style. Our signature post-production editing involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, and other corrections. It is a very skilled process utilizing skilled techniques and state of the art equipment and software. Many photographers do not post-produce any images.

What do you mean by “touching up” the photos?

“Touching up” refers to our signature post-production editing and includes color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, and other corrections.

What is the difference between signature post-production editing and advanced/custom editing and why are there additional costs for advanced and custom retouched images?

Advanced post-production editing includes touch-ups such as removal of blemishes, removal of bags under eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc and takes great skill, software, and a lot of time to complete. Custom post production editing requires extensive, custom work in Photoshop such as removing entire objects from the scene, changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene, adding objects to a scene and other custom work. We charge hourly for advanced and custom post-production editing due to the fact that the time and skill required ranges depending on the complexity of the project.

Do you shoot in JPEG, Small Raw, or Large Raw?

We shoot in Raw.

Do you release Raw images?

Raw images are not released under any circumstances. The reason is because they are incomplete files and unfinished projects. They are SOOC without any post-production and editing and do not accurately reflect our quality of expertise and work.

What rights do I have to the digital prints?

Raw images are not released under any circumstances. The reason is because they are incomplete files and unfinished projects. They are SOOC without any post-production and editing and do not accurately reflect our quality of expertise and work.

You have the right to reprint images of the digital files that are purchased and it will be in our contract. You may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without the written consent of Liza Nicole Photography. What if I lose my images?

There is a $150 replacement charge for additional downloads after they have been archived. We suggest you make at least one copy of your images when you receive them. Images are not guaranteed to be archived after a year.

How do I reserve you for my date?

All dates are reserved once we receive your signed contract and deposit.

If we cancel, will we receive our retainer session fee back?

Unfortunately no. Session fees are used to reserve your date. Once your date is reserved, we do not accept new clients for your date therefore they are not refundable.

If we change to a different date, will we be able to use our retainer session fee towards a future date?

Generally no, but this is taken on a case by case basis. The reason for canceling, type of session and our availability is taken into account. A rescheduling fee will be required if able to accommodate. Additionally, if our fees change from your original date to your new date, the new fees will apply.

What should I/we wear to my session?

We will discuss this detail during our pre-session consultation appointment.

Liza Nicole Photography has an extensive couture client closet for Maternity, Newborn, and Women Empowerment Boudoir. We encourage all clients to bring 2-3 wardrobe options of their own that they love. For headshots/branding/family/men we encourage you to plan your wardrobe and bring a few options that you love to choose between during your session! We want you to wear clothing that showcases you and your personality. Investing time in selecting a wardrobe for your photo shoot is important as you will be happier with the results of your images. Leaving the details to the last minute creates unnecessary stress. We want this to be a fun stress free experience. Don’t hesitate to consult with us on options for colors and accessories during your pre-consultation appointment.

Dress: Solids colors are ideal. No print on clothing is ideal. Stripes and patterns draw attention away from your face and can make the subject appear larger. Avoid wearing turtlenecks and large loose clothing as they are not flattering in photos. Shorts or capris tend to make legs appear shorter.

Colors: Solid monochromatic colors are easiest to coordinate and always a great choice. Primary or complementary colors also look great and bring depth to the photograph. Darker colors will cause the subject(s) to appear thinner while lighter colors will make the subjects appear larger and always good to keep in mind. Dark pants or jeans with dark shoes are a staple for a choice for a portrait. When choosing you or your family’s color schemes, consider what looks best on you and also the colors that will look best in wall portraits and complement your home’s décor.

Accessories: Keep it to a minimum. Avoid hats, hair ornaments, and sparkly or costume jewelry for the most part.

Footwear: Avoid running shoes, white socks, and heavy footwear. Consider fashionable heels/boots/shoes, sandals or bare feet for casual photos.
